Apple of His eye

This last Friday the Dandelions and I went for a day trip up to Apple Hill! Kiersten and I took turns with the camera, the results were fun memories and some beautiful pictures. Here are a few to enjoy!

The wooded clearing we were in, featured in the photos above, was so gorgeous! We lied down near it to take a little nap. Some of the other highlights were: the drive there (riding in the car together is always half the fun on a road trip!), the "Apple Donuts" song (you will have to ask Kat or Kiersten to sing it for you sometime!) and the beautiful weather! (It was an absolutely lovely day out) The fellowship was sweet and to be treasured. I love those girls!

In other news this week I finished reading "Living in the Light of Eternity" by K.P Yohannan (The founder of Gospel for Asia) Seriously- I feel like all Christians need to read this book- it's that awesome! And it's also not only a fairly straightforward and simple read but it's also available free for download on pdf. on their website! www.GospelforAsia.org

The prominent theme of this book is dire need to simply share the Gospel with every person alive! Remembering who we are, and the temporal nature of this life on earth makes all the difference in how we spend it. I am greater challenged and encouraged to give my all to love God well and expend my time and energy not just for myself but for the love of others as well. Thanks K.P!

Jesus is Life, Hope, Joy and Peace. He really is the Way, Truth and the Life.
John 14:6
I am so thankful for the peace and freedom that I get to live in daily and for salvation from an eternity without Christ which is ours to have because of His great love. It is His great joy to bestow this mercy and grace upon us because He cares for you and me. After all He made us!
"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23. None of us deserve it (Salvation) but by His grace through faith He gives it to us anyways! (Romans 2:8) Thank you God! I don't know how else to close out this blog post except by saying that I pray that you come to know Him in a true and intimate way, if you don't yet. He is so good, He is here and He loves you. :)

Forever we will be with God. It seems like it is a long ways away but I am realizing that it will be here in what will seem a moment's time. I don't want to have any regrets at the end of my days but to know in the end that I lived for what actually mattered. I pray for God's grace to be able to do so.

creative aspirations as of late

I found these gems (the frame and paper) at work the other day! The wooden frame was out by the dumpster and the paper came in a shipment of office supplies. I am planning on stretching either fabric or canvas over the frame to make some wall art and I will use the paper to wrap Christmas gifts with! (which I know will be here quickly!) I am excited. I have been able to work on my mending pile some this week (Thank You Lord!) and will be writing some of the letters that I have been meaning to get around to very soon. Yay! :)

In the past I have realized some of the things that I eat are very weird! It is not so much the items themselves but more-so the combinations that I assemble them into. Let me explain: Sometimes I go through these fazes (which are quite frequent) where I just don't want to spend any money! It's usually because I have been spending or have spent too much and so to try and keep my consumerism at a minimum I go on a weird kind of fast. This last week I have been eating: Rice, Spaghetti, Spaghetti Sauce, Jam, the apricot bread that Jen Anderson made for us (so good!), Apples from the backyard tree and the peanut butter that Kiersten (and Jesus) surprised me with. Oh and the brussels sprouts that Dave brought over for Kiersten. Kind of random! The eyebrows raised in my house when I suggested adding some of the apples I baked to the spaghetti. (I was thinking of making it more nutritious haha) I will be doing some grocery shopping soon though cause this girl needs some produce but for the time being it's been fun!

Kiersten and her pretty tortilla lunch creation :)

my precious little pb gift <3

The Dandelions and I are going to Apple Hill this Friday, wahoo! Pictures and stories to come soon :)

God bless your week dear hearts.

night walk

Coming back from celebrating the life of a dear friend the other night instead of heading up my front porch steps like I was intending to do, I took a left turn and went for a brief but beautiful misty late night walk. The pavement was wet and the air, cool and breezy, felt refreshing on my bare face. It was a lovely night from start to finish and as I was taking in my surroundings on this unexpected adventure I felt a little like a Londoner trekking back to her flat even though I was still just in Roseville. I only walked to the end of my street and back (like I said it was late and also raining) but still it was a sweet moment to reflect on the day and think a little about the past.

Outfit I was wearing, which lent to the city feel I was describing:

Me and the birthday dear, Kates :)

I have had a beautiful past week! Renovating the house a bit (my bedroom is still in process as the mirror picture might give away- haha!) But the rest of the house is coming along quite nicely! I got to paint our kitchen wall and renovate a dusty old bookshelf.
Dave and I both matched the wall haha!

Not too much other craftiness to report...
My sewing pile is growing, I hope to be able to get at it some this next week. Until then, cheers! <3
